As each new generation enters the workforce, Human Resources pros must adapt recruiting strategies to ensure attracting the best and the brightest applicants. One of the latest trends that HR must be prepared for is parental involvement during the college recruiting process.Martin McDonald, a recruitment consultant with TWC Group (www.twcgroup.com), says so-called “helicopter parents” of Generation Y college grads started becoming involved in the interview and offer process about a year ago. “These parents have been involved for years and years with every activity their children have done,” he says. “This is just the next step.”
