  2. Magiano’s Little Italy is located at 1201 Filbert St with it’s entrance on Filbert St. Corner of 12th Street, right across from The Marriott.
  3. Event registration begins at 5:45pm, the event starts at 6pm. Upon arrival, check in at The Ultimate Networking Event table with the ticket that you received attached to the email confirmation upon your purchase. Enter the room and make sure to meet our Ultimate Networking Ambassadors. These are the professionals that will help you network and introduce you to others in the room to help assure you a successful networking experience. Also be sure to visit our sponsor’s tables for valuable information that can impact your business.
  4. Make sure to bring plenty of business cards. There will be approx. 200 professionals at this event. Remember, Success is when preparation meets opportunity; you are always only one contact away from your greatest success. Always be prepared.
  5. Networking is creating relationships, not making a sales call. This is where most people make a mistake. Your goal tonight is to create the beginning of a business relationship, not to make a sale call. Simply meet other like minded business professionals, exchange business cards, give a short introduction of what you do and what sets you aside from everyone else (Your Elevator Pitch), give the other person time to do the same, then repeat.
  6. The Fortune is in The Follow Up! Most importantly, make sure to follow up with everyone you have met tonight within the next 3 days. The faster you follow up with them, the more they will remember, so the sooner the better. This is were you can have more of an opportunity to get to know them and how you can help them grow their business and yours as well with what you have to offer them and what they have to offer you. This can be in form of direct business, or referrals. Either way, it a Win-Win, and the beginning of a strong business relationship.

Shake-Up in the Boardroom

When Spartan Motors Inc. CEO John Sztykiel met with his executive team this past fall, he drove to a conference room at manufacturer Peckham Inc., 26 miles away.

It is an offbeat tactic that the chief executive has devised for saving money and generating new ideas: holding meetings at other companies’ offices.

I stopped looking for work

These are just some interesting stories posted on CNN. If you are out of work… it can be tough but don’t despair… keep moving forward. Volunteer, read books, network, take up a new hobby but don’t GIVE UP!!!  Keep going and pushing forward.

Read these not to be discouraged or pissed off, but to make the change today that propels you to what you want in a job!

Jobs: Short-term hope, long-term despair

Friday’s jobs report showed some glimmers of a recovery but if you’re among the 8.8 million Americans still unemployed after nearly four months, you may have been left scratching your head.

Positive Jobs Report Doesn’t Ease Worries of a ‘Double Dip’

Even as the jobless rate held steady at 9.7 percent and the 36,000 workers laid off in February was much less than expected, economists and investment analysts said it’s still too early to discount the economy’s chances of revisiting recession.

“Eight months into the much-touted recovery, the economy should be adding jobs not just losing jobs at a slower pace,” University of Maryland economist Peter Morici wrote in an analysis.

Unemployment rate: 9.7 percent. Underemployment: far higher.

What the report didn’t say: Almost 17 percent of Americans are underemployed, according to the BLS. A recent Gallup poll puts the figure at almost 20 percent.

This means that nearly 30 million Americans are unemployed or working fewer hours than they’d like, which could put a big drag on any economic recovery.
